Acupunture
Herbal Medicine

Kim Nguyen

Kim is an AHPRA registered Chinese medicine herbalist and acupuncturist, who completed their Bachelor of Health Science (Chinese Medicine) across RMIT and Torrens University. After working as a studio assistant for a jeweler/artist for many years, she wanted to find something that incorporated her love for art and science. After learning about Chinese Medicine a real curiosity began as it seemed like the perfect blend of the two. Through a modern approach to holistic health rooted in traditional East Asian practices she felt connected to its poetic philosophy and foundations.

After observing under many practitioners during her studies Kim was amazed at Chinese Medicine’s ability to treat such a variety of complex conditions from internal medicine, fertility and neurological conditions.

Having previously volunteered as an acupuncturist working in drug and alcohol addiction, she developed a special interest in mental health, pain management and gut health. Dermatological and gynaecological conditions are also among the areas that Kim has a keen interest in. She firmly believes acupuncture and herbal medicine can compliment Western medicine or be used as an alternative to some Western medicine procedures. By having an open and  integrated approach she believes patient-centred care can be achieved.

Beyond the treatment room, Kim is also passionate about preventative health rooted in Chinese medicine philosophy. This includes discussion on food energetics, lifestyle advice, and aligning with the seasons to maintain balance and prevent disharmony. Kim has a warm and caring nature, that loves to work in tandem with the patient towards their needs and goals.
