Christine Lee

Christine Lee has been a registered and practising Chinese Medicine practitioner since 2008. She completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Chinese Medicine and Human Biology) at RMIT. She has completed an internship in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China. She has also completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Medical Anthropology.

Christine was brought up in a Chinese family with the traditional principles of holistic wellness. This includes eating well and moving well. It also respects living with the seasons and with our environment. Her practice encourages people to get to know their bodies, and to craft a lifestyle and management plan that best suits their individual choices.

Christine has experience treating a wide variety of conditions in general practice Chinese medicine. She has worked in family clinics for over ten years, seeing all types of patients from newborns to seniors.

Christine has a deep interest in assisting cancer patients through their cancer treatment and recovery. She stays up to date with cancer treatments, and understands the acupuncture and holistic support that can reduce side-effects and symptoms.

Christine has completed further studies in treating mental health conditions, with special interest in anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and trauma recovery. She also works with other professionals in supporting eating disorders, bipolar, schizoid and other affective and personality disorders. Her approach is holistic and person-based.

Christine works with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimers and stroke recovery. She has experience with ear and scalp acupuncture techniques that are targeted towards these symptoms and conditions.

Christine also has a special interest in treating women's health conditions. This is grounded in the understanding that the many "inconveniences" that women tolerate (painful irregular periods, anxiety, night sweats, moodiness, digestive problems) are actually health problems that can be successfully addressed. Treating these problems lead to a healthier, happier life and also reduces the onset of more complicated health issues in later life.

Christine was co-founder and director of Prickle Community Acupuncture, a non-profit clinic providing acupuncture for the less fortunate. She also created the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Acupuncture Project, a program that provides free acupuncture to asylum seekers in Melbourne.

Christine has loose, ongoing relationships with dance, yoga, running and cycling. She has a young family and a garden.
